The reviews are in: Chelmsford Theatre’s first year back since reopening is hailed as a roaring success.

Following on from the Liberal Democrat-run Chelmsford City Council’s decision to invest in a refurbishment for the theatre, 2023 was a fantastic year with the opening of the brand new café and the launching of the new membership scheme.

Residents across Chelmsford have voted with their feet and the theatre has seen an amazing 135,000 people through the doors with over 40% being first-time bookers.

Commenting on the success, Marie Goldman said: “Our investment has made the venue much more commercially viable, protecting it for years to come.”
