Protect Our Post Offices

Morrisons has announced that it is reviewing their estate of Morrisons Locals - two of which are in Great Baddow and Galleywood. Each of these stores provides an invaluable local service through hosting the only Post Office branches in the two villages, allowing residents who cannot make it to Chelmsford High Street to send mail and access banking services. The store in the Great Baddow is already earmarked for closure and we are concerned about the risk of the store in Galleywood being put at risk in future reviews. Any reduction in Post Office services would risk cutting off local residents in a time where local bank branches are closing and further reducing access to banking services when they need it.

We ask that Morrisons and the Post Office work with us to ensure that Post Office services are not lost permanently in Great Baddow upon closure of the Morrisons Daily in the Vineyards and collaborate with us to safeguard the viability of Post Office services in Galleywood in the long term.

Protect Our Post Offices

It is vital that we protect these important local services, to give our local communities access to cash and postal services close to home.
