Morrisons has announced that it is reviewing their estate of Morrisons Locals - two of which are in Great Baddow and Galleywood. Each of these stores provides an invaluable local service through hosting the only Post Office branches in the two villages, allowing residents who cannot make it to Chelmsford High Street to send mail and access banking services. Closing the Great Baddow and Galleywood stores would risk cutting off these residents in a time where local bank branches are closing and further reducing access to banking services when they need it.

We ask that Morrisons ensures that these stores are protected from closure, both now and in future reviews of their estate and that they work with us to maintain Post Offices services for all of our residents, including the most vulnerable.
