Potholes "too small to fix" says Conservative-run Essex

Right across Essex, Conservative-run Essex County Council is turning down requests for repairs of some major potholes and road defects. Here are just a few extraordinary examples.

In Kensington Road, Essex Council DO NOT think this needs fixing, saying "the damage is not causing a serious effect on the local residents."

Lib Dem Cllr Vicky Davies says: "How on earth is a mother supposed to safely get round this corner with a pram and baby never mind a person unsteady on their feet?"

In Mores Lane is another unfilled, enormous pothole

Local Lib Dem Candidate Lisa Barrett is appalled: "If two cars meet here there's going to be an accident but this has not been dealt with for many months. It's as bad as the situation in Sandpit Lane where cars can't pass each other safely."

Bollard in Clarence Road does not need fixing

Cllr Vicky Davies has been told by Essex Council that "Following a recent inspection and robust risk assessment, the bollard you refer to has been assessed as not requiring immediate remedial work and will be monitored routinely for any deterioration."
