Residents' parking for First Avenue and Fell Christy

22 Aug 2013

The council is proposing Residents' Parking in the above roads Monday-Friday 8am to 6pm.

We encourage you to write to the Council in support of the proposals, by the deadline of Friday 30 August 2013. You should either:

# send an e-mail to trafficreg@chelmsford.gov.uk (copy please to cllr@stephenrobinson.org)

# or write to
South Essex Parking Partnership Manager
Chelmsford City Council
Duke Street
Chelmsford CM1 1JE

Your local Lib Dem councillors were disappointed to learn that the council was not writing to you directly. They simply hoped that you would read page 33 of The Enquirer newspaper, a paper that you have probably never seen before. Stephen Robinson has written to the relevant Council Director to express our concerns.

Be that as it may, we need you to write in NOW. There will almost certainly be some objections. We need the letters of support to hugely outweigh the objections. Otherwise nothing will change and traffic chaos will persist.

Summary of proposals

First Avenue: At the low numbers end, there will be no parking at all on the south side and a short length of 'short wait' parking on the north side. This is designed for patients of the chiropractor.

(This will mean double yellow lines on the south side of the road, for 60 metres from the Broomfield Road junction.)

The rest of the road will be Residents' (and their Visitors) Only Parking.

Fell Christy: the existing double yellow lines will be extended very slightly and the rest of the road will be Residents' (and their Visitors) Only Parking.
