Recycling Yellow Pages and Tetra Paks in Chelmsford

a car full of yellow pages for recycling

We cannot put Yellow Pages and Tetra Paks out for the weekly recycling in Chelmsford but they can be taken in for recycling at the following locations:

Yellow Pages

  • Asda - Village Gate, Chelmer Village, CM2 6RE
  • Tesco - Springfield Road, Chelmsford, CM2 6QT
  • Tesco - Wood Street, Chelmsford, CM2 9XW
  • Somerfield - Dickens Place, Newland Springs, CM1 4UX
  • Asda - Queen Elizabeth II Square, South Woodham Ferrers, CM3 5SY

You cannot put them out with cardboard recycling; they have to be recycled separately due to the age of the directories. The dye on this paper becomes difficult to remove after six months. The old directories are recycled into cardboard tubing, which can be used for kitchen rolls or toilet tissue.

New Tetra Pak Recycling Scheme

Cartons still cannot be placed into household recycling bins in Chelmsford, but a new project means that used cartons can now be recycled through special collection bins at the following sites:

  • Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, Victoria Road, Chelmsford
  • Chelmer Park, Beehive Lane, Galleywood
  • Asda, Queen Elizabeth II Square, South Woodham Ferrers
  • Well Lane, Danbury
  • Ongar Road, Writtle, CM1 3NF
