Chelmsford Council have published drawings of new skate-ramps for Central Park. They come after nearly seven years of discussions.

In Summer 2009 Lib Dem campaigner Stephen Robinson met some skaters who told him that ramps in Central Park needing repairing. Stephen Robinson arranged for some of them to meet council officers and discuss some repairs. In Dec09 (picture) Stephen met them for an update and to discuss the chances of something brand new.

Since then, a group of the skaters have been in discussion with the council about future options. Said Stephen, "I am delighted that, at long last, the new ramps will start being built towards the end of this month. Sadly, nothing happens quickly with local government!"
