27 new flats and houses were officially opened by the Mayor of Chelmsford Cllr Trevor Miller. The development, by social landlord CHP, boasts excellent design features and plenty of internal space for the new residents.

Chelmsford City Council was able to make available some of its land for the development.

The road containing the new homes has been named SmithHughes Close, after Tom Smith-Hughes who was a local Liberal Democrat councillor for 27 years.
