LIBERAL DEMOCRATS SWEEP BOARD IN STUDENT POLL

Chelmsford Liberal Democrat Youth and Student group is celebrating the result of a national student opinion poll, which puts support for the Liberal Democrats at more than twice that of the Conservatives, with the Labour party even lower in their opinion*. It also shows that two thirds would vote in a General Election.
The poll was undertaken by the Times Higher Education Supplement Opinion Panel and as well as political questions, it included questions about relationships, money and drinking.
Local LDYS member Hazel Crabb-Wyke said "These results are yet more proof that it is only the Liberal Democrats who are relevant to the lives of students today. Membership of Liberal Democrat Youth and Students has been growing rapidly, and this poll shows that amongst those students who changed their political allegiance from Labour over tuition fees, 44% came to the Liberal Democrats and only 15% to the Conservatives, showing clearly that students can see through the Tory spin on this issue."
*Times Higher Education Supplement / Opinion Panel Research: Lib Dems 47%, Lab 20%, Con 23%.
