Attracting jobs to Chelmsford

Businesses from Chelmsford and further afield are being encouraged to invest in Chelmsford, because it is a great place to live and work. The Lib Dem-led City Council recently welcomed businesses to a lively panel discussion about a sustainable future for Chelmsford.
Held at the Anglia Ruskin University, the event was an opportunity for attendees to discuss shaping Chelmsford's future. A key narrative was how to develop Chelmsford in a way that meets both the needs of the workforce and community today and in the future.
Council Leader Stephen Robinson commented, "We've long wanted an event to promote Chelmsford as a great place to live AND work. Around 1000 new homes a year are being built in Chelmsford and the City Council is keen to ensure that a similar number of jobs are created. That is all part of creating a sustainable city - where people can live near where they work."
